UmPhakathi Design Studio

UmPhakathi Design Studio is a young black owned and run freelance Architectural design studio based in Pretoria. This firm was founded by Sibusiso F Phakathi, who hails from Welkom in the Free State Province, South Africa. He studied Architectural Technology at Tshwane University of Technology, and in 2014 he decided to take a leave from his studies for a job in the industry. The aim of this decision was to determine exactly where it was he might best fit in, in this broad field of Architecture and Design, it was only in 2016 when he truly discovered where it was his passion truly laid, and it was in 3D visualization. It was with that background that “UmPhakathi Design Studio” was borne… from the need to bridge the apparent gap between the Architectural profession and 3D visualization industry that exists in South Africa.

UmPhakathi Design Studio is black-owned and run Architectural design firm, which has been practicing since 2016, during which time the company has been consistently successful in achieving the goals it has set for itself. The company started off in Pretoria North with the bulk of its projects being in the Hartebeespoort area, and our company is well known for its professionalism, commitment and holistic approach in enhancing client’s property investment and value. 

Our dynamic company offers a professional, focused and hands-on architectural design service unlike any other and we specialize in up market waterfront houses and estates. The company works closely with clients to accommodate their specific need and requirements. We ensure that the design, spatial planning and interior design of the relevant building is fully integrated into the architectural style. We also provide a consultancy service for those clients who only seek architectural and interior 3D presentations and models. The company now has its Head Office in Braamfontein and has the ability and resources to operate throughout the Gauteng Province, Free State and the North West Province.

We offer professional services in all phases of the residential design process including concept design, 3D modelling, development of technical documentation, and even local council submissions. We constantly strive to stay at the forefront residential design and 3D modelling in keeping with global trends and sustainable design initiatives and futuristic innovations that efficiently optimise scarce resources.
